Love the atmosphere here and the food is good. Think of a small japanese bar you would go to after work were you drink and order nibbles as your cravings come up. Service was good and attentive. I wish they would embrace the microbrewery culture of Ottawa and expand their selection of beer. All in all a great meal and excited to try all of the menue and love the rotating items that keep the choices fresh.

Excellent and authentic izakaya style food. Everything I had from the yakitori, salad, rice bowls and desserts was great. The service was good and quick. I appreciated the Japanese style greetings when clients came in. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting with great decor and good lighting. There is no loud music which makes it great for conversation.

Great traditional Japanese pub feel with modern design. Great small dishes at reasonable price. Seatings and layout of pub is great for group of 2 in a intimate setting or a larger group in a comfortable space.

Very authentic Japanese food but one of my favorite things about this Izakaya is the atmosphere and interior decoration. Feels similar to some older Izakaya in Japan. The food itself has great presentation and is fair prices for what you get

I really love their salmon ochazuke, which is basically rice and salted salmon with tea surrounding it. The flavors were just right for it. I also ordered their eel kushiyaki but I felt it was more fatty than I expected. Though the taste is good. I also recommend their yuzu creme brulee which is really good and slightly bitter. I prefer it more than their kikyou mochi, which was a lot sweeter.

Cool Japanese restaurant with an authentic Izakaya feel! Gad I went early and felt lucky to get a seat at the bar after learning although the restaurant was half full, every table was reserved! Started off with a miso soup and some chicken thigh, heart and unagi yakitori. The yakitori menu was great, I'd come back just for this. Chicken karage was crispy and moist. Cured Aburi Shimesaba was generous and had powerful flavour softened by lemongrass, diakon and green onion. The kakuni marinated in a sweet broth melted in your mouth, it was the highlight dish for me. I'll definitely be back for yakitori and kakuni. I'd like to try a donburi bowl and the mochi or brulee - I didn't make it to desert.
